Everyone has some kind of privilege, though they're not always the same when you compare these privileges. I'm not here to get into specifics or race, wealth, gender privileges, that's a conversation you'll find somewhere else. Unfortunately, in today's world, being healthy and being fit is a privilege. It may not seem like it but please, don't be ignorant. There are way too many people who don't get that they are genuinely lucky to be able to buy and cook healthy meals, to go to a gym or get shoes and clothes to workout in. Regardless or where you're from or how you live, being able to do this makes you privileged. Of course, it all boils down to who we are, where we were born, what our culture is like. There are too many people who are privileged enough to have everything they would need to lead healthy lives and still choose not to, and that's their choice. But if you do make healthier choices for your life, don't act like everyone else can or that this is a given for every other person. This was something i thought about when I saw how certain people speak about the kind of diets they have and say that everyone else can easily do the same thing they are. Your diet is not one that would work for every single person, we all have different things to consider when it comes to how and what we eat. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, paleo, just eating healthy food with no specific diet, it doesn't matter, THIS IS A LUXURY. It doesn't matter if someone else lives in the same country or city as you do, if they do the same job and are the same age as you are, there are a number of things for people to consider before being able to make changes to their lives like you might have. This is exactly why when I promote what I do, I do it within my own means. The clothes I buy, the workouts I do, the places I go, and the things I eat, I always say that these are all my choice and these aren't things you need to spend an arm and a leg on. That's exactly why I always say to do what you can, make those changes where you're able to. I loved doing Kayla Itsines's BBG and right now doing Amanda Bisk's Fresh Body Fit Mind workouts, they're both amazing and 20-30 minutes a day to workout definitely is do-able for many of us. But think of someone who might have to go to school full time and then rush off to work and come home to help with their family. Suddenly even 30 minutes seems like heaps. One thing that angers me is people who say eating healthy is cheaper. NO IT IS NOT. I will not argue about this. We live in a world where getting things that are bad for you is far easier than getting things that will benefit you - and this isn't just for anything health and fitness related. Buying a few fast food burgers for a meal is cheaper than buying all the ingredients needed for a proper healthy meal. And that's not considering the time needed to cook and prepare these meals just yet. That's why it's fast food. It's cheap, it's convenient. And unfortunately that also means it is not the healthiest option. Any time I'm out and I might need a snack or a meal, the easiest options seems to be the worst ones. I could get a donut or a cheeseburger almost anywhere for $1.50 to $3 at most or I could get a takeaway salad or a healthy wrap which ends up costing me about $8-$12 depending on where I look. Come on, when you need to worry about what you're spending your money on, you know which choice will win. This is why people who lack the time and money tend to make unhealthy choices. Some can change it, but unfortunately not all. See how you're privileged by being able to snack on fruit or eat home cooked meals or even eat out at a healthy restaurant? It is sad to think that there are people who could really benefit from having the means to get healthier meals and time to do things that are good for their health, yet they just can't.
And what's absolutely horrible is people who do have the means to do all these things and ignore the fact that they are privileged. We are so lucky to be able to do what we do, and it would never be right to assume that every other person could do it just because we can and even judge them for not being the same. Be humble, be kind and please know your privilege.

I might be 21 but I feel like my days of wanting to go to events, clubbing, concerts, music festivals etc. are long over. Maybe I'm getting old too soon. I don't say no to everything but if I'm not 100% excited about it and I'll end up missing a yoga/workout session then I'll probably skip it. If only there was something that combined a fun event with yoga or working out. OH WAIT THERE IS!
I've heard of events like these overseas but I guess I was just too new to the yoga scene to know about every little yoga event happening in Singapore. I have a very bad habit of expecting too much and later being disappointed. So I told myself not to hype it up, just chill out and see what happens, that's how you really enjoy an event like SoulScape. I was already very surprised by all the goodies I was hooked up with. They really know how to treat their guests well since we were given us about everything you'd need for SoulScape. Members of the tribal council were decked out in 2XU apparel, as you would know is just about the finest in compression wear. A beautiful elastic headband from Rumi Yoga Wear which were flown in direct from Hong Kong; by now you would know if it has a print and bright colour on it then I LOVE IT! A bright red travel mat bag from Real Yoga and a Travel Yoga Mat - I picked Orange since once again, colour! Also I didn't own an orange yoga mat yet - a girl needs variety right?! (not pictured) An Everyday Yoga Towel from Mandana. Personally I was pretty excited about the Mandana towel since i've wanted one for a while and of course I was putting off buying one of my own. Perfect timing am i right? Besides the lovely gifts, we also got a goodie bag which had little treats like tea, a selfie stick (anyone here like taking selfies?), facial wash and sunscreen. And of course I'll count in all the free coconut water that was available during the event, coconut water is everything! I took my sister as my plus 1 and though we tried to plan out our day at SoulScape to make the most out of the event, it didn't work out as planned! Hitting the snooze button too many times meant we didn't even get to SoulScape until 9:30am when our original plan was to join the 9am Acro Yoga class. Oops! We passed the next hour and a half until the 11am classes by going around all the booths that were opened - and buying a few items as well, most of them bars to snack on - lying around Tanjong Beach and of course getting a few photos! But lets talk about the real SoulScape experience. The classes had something in them I did not expect. The one class I enjoyed more than the others, 11am's SoulFire Flow Class led by Cristi Christensen. This class is one that will really stick with me for a long time. I've attended yoga classes and I know what I like in them. One thing I don't are attending large classes. Though we can't get a small class of 5 at SoulScape can we? So we make the best out of the situation. Cristi was nice enough to get a free space for two right in the front of the pavilion for my sister and I. Her class was more than just a flow; the asanas were all wonderful and her transitions felt refreshing especially with the beautiful view of the water in front of us. Like a delightful scene and yoga flow weren't enough, Cristi really touched us by taking a spin on a traditional yoga class when she put on some upbeat music and got everyone to dance around the pavilion with her. Just letting go and being in the moment. Her words that followed when the flow continued really touched me - and I'm sure everyone else in class too - I can say this experience had to be one of the best yoga classes I've ever had the privilege to attend. Those of you who followed me on snapchat would have seen the clips from that class and I was even nice enough to share one of them on my Instagram account - which you can still see if you wanna scroll back! We attended a few other classes, thankfully we got to attend the evening AcroYoga class even if we did have a few hiccups! In between, we watched some other classes instead of joining in - trust me it is super fun to watch a dance class when you're snacking on vegan cupcakes, cookies and acai bowls! (All sold at SoulScape!)
The whole atmosphere at SoulScape was very inviting and I love how it made you feel like doing yoga all day and meeting all these new people was just natural, not something you HAD to make yourself do. If only everyday was like that right? Unfortunately we were unable to stay for the night event but the 9 hours we did spend at SoulScape were definitely worth our time. Based on what other people have said, I'd say we missed a bunch by having to leave early, but oh well! Maybe next year! If any of you attending SoulScape, it'll be great to share what you did too and how you liked it! And if you didn't, then come next year - you really missed out this year, so don't make the same mistake twice! Being healthy and fit isn't just about working out and sleeping enough. Every single person would know how much healthy eating helps your body. Besides the basics, you hear so much about superfoods and how certain vegetables or fruits or grains are "must haves" and it'll change your world! I'll be honest, I love trying new foods like that, as long as I can get it, I'm going to have it. Even if the idea of having superfoods is just a fab for now, it's one I'm enjoying. Being healthy is becoming more and more important and popular and I absolutely love that, it's definitely a "fad" i hope never fades. So the idea of eating naked is definitely interesting and sounds like it would make anyone feel amazing. Now don't get me wrong, eating naked means to have all natural foods, no hidden ingredients or processed foods, you don't have to physically naked to do it but if you want to then hey, go ahead! I've tried a few food blends here and there, some I liked, some tasted like complete crap! But at the end of the day, I just wanted to have fun with what I was eating. I loved adding blends to my nana ice cream, on top of toast or oats, and knowing they were natural and healthy sure made me happy. I find most of my products through Instagram, I've learned that doing a google search tends to lead me to expensive products that I would just never want to buy. So I stick to whatever other people post, if they like it, maybe I will too. If it wasn't perfect enough, I found Eat Naked through a girl I follow on Instagram. Yes, an actual blend called "Eat Naked" it was just screaming "TRY ME!". Of course, I had to! _ I was interested before I had a look at their website but after reading what was in their blend, I was more than excited to have a taste. What got me so excited? Beetroot. It might not be everyone's favourite but I love beetroot! I would have them in my salads, sandwiches, burgers and wraps whenever I could - unfortunately that wasn't often so it's not like I ever got sick of it! Eat Naked is filled with organic dehydrated beetroot, activated nuts, linseeds, coconuts and sunflower fruits. If you're not a huge fan of beetroot, trust me, the taste of beetroot isn't very strong so don't be scared! But it definitely has the amazing redish-pink colour of beetroot! This means if you're adding it to your smoothies or nana ice cream could turn it a beautiful pink colour just like mine did on the left. It's so easy because all you need to do is add a tablespoon each day - or every other day - and you're set! As always, it isn't a miracle worker, but it sure will make your meals better. I add mine to nana ice cream, usually a tablespoon in my mix and a teaspoon to top. I have been having the biggest obsession with peanut butter lately so you can expect my nana ice cream to be peanut butter flavoured and thankfully Eat Naked doesn't alter the taste! You still enjoy a yummy, healthy breakfast with a serve of superfoods! If you prefer something else, I occasionally make oatmeal with Eat Naked. My Favourite Recipe: 1 Cup Oatmeal 1/2 to 1 cup milk of your choice, I use Quinoa milk (depending on how thick you like it) 1 apple, cut into small cubes or slices 1 banana, cut into slices 1 handful of blueberries 1 tablespoon of Eat Naked And you mix it all together and dig in or cook it in a pot for a bit. I prefer to cook it because the flavours mix so well, it gets sweeter and I end up with probably the best oatmeal I've ever had. Honestly, see how easy that is! Considering how affordable a pack of Eat Naked is how good it is, you know you need a pack (or five!) Take my word, I absolutely love Eat Naked! I've been having it nearly every morning I'm home for breakfast for the last 3 weeks and I'm going to keep having it every morning! Eat Naked is also a part of my 10K Instagram Competition/Giveaway! So if you want a chance to win a pack, head over to my Instagram and enter! It ends on the 12th so you have a few days left!
